Henry Glavin Hollowell

   Henry Glavin Hollowell, 73, of 1725½ North Road Street, Elizabeth City, NC, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018, in his home.

   Mr. Hollowell was born in Pasquotank County on August 7, 1945, and was the son of the late Glavin Whitt and Mary Rebecca Gray Hollowell. Retired from PA Chevrolet in Lawton, Oklahoma, he was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and was a member of the American Legion.

   Surviving are his wife of over 23 years, Christine Casper Hollowell; a daughter, Melodie Knudson (Jeff) of Burlington; a son, Billy Hollowell (Tina) of Montrose, CA; a sister, Dorothy Liles of Sunbury; and a brother, Richard Earl Hollowell of Edenton. Also surviving are Christine’s children, Johnny Shingleton (Angie) of Roanoke, VA, Tammy Epps (Joseph) of Aulander, and Lisa Jones (Robert) of Elizabeth City. Together Henry and Christine shared 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

   A graveside service with military honors will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Casper Family Cemetery in Eure, and will be conducted by Pastor J.O. Denton, Jr. Friends may join the family Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and other times at the residence.
