Helen Mansfield Willie

   Helen Mansfield Willie, 93, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at First Colonial Inn in Virginia Beach.

   Born in Edenton, NC on October 24, 1928 to Raymond A. and Dollie West Mansfield, she lived there until she married Dennis W. Willie, a Marine pilot stationed in Edenton during World War II. Pursing his career as a pilot, they settled in Hackensack, NJ where they raised their three daughters. After retiring from Bloomingdale’s in 1993, Helen moved to Virginia.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Dennis, and her only sibling, Margaret M. Lacy.

   Surviving are her daughters and their husbands, V. Ann and Stephen Burke, Carol and Andrew Lanza, and Denise and Harvey Schonwald; her niece and husband, Carla and Jack Vipperman; nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

   Helen will be interred in Edenton beside her parents and Dennis. Any memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
