Hazel Bryson Frisby

Hertford, NC---

   Hazel Lorine Bryson Frisby, 73, of Hertford, NC, died Friday, January 3, 2025, in her home.  

   Mrs. Frisby was born in Haywood County on May 12, 1951, and was the daughter of the late Charles Thaddes and Opal Alma Knighton Bryson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tony, and by a granddaughter, Makayla.

   A homemaker, she made designer cakes for all occasions, and loved playing bingo and Elvis Pressley.  Known as the "Life of the Party," and a real, "Spit-fire," Mrs. Frisby was always willing to help friends and neighbors, and loved her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.  She served as Senior Vice-Commander for the D.A.V. Auxiliary, Unit 41 for several years, and disabled veterans were always close to her heart.

   Surviving is her husband of 43 years, Thomas Gerald "Tommy" Frisby;  two sons, William Davis (Cheryl) and Jason Davis;  four daughters, Nioka Amick (Carson), Jennifer Velez (Eric), and April and Carolyn Frisby;  a brother, James Bryson;  14 grandchildren;  11 great-grandchildren (& growing!);  and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

   A celebration of her life is planned by the family for a later date.
