Harold Andrew "Willie" Williams, Jr.

Harold Andrew “Willie” Williams, Jr., 84, of Hertford, NC, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024 in his home.

Mr. Williams was born in Blue Creek, OH on July 9, 1940, and was the son of the late Harold Andrew, Sr. and Mary Esther Miller Williams. 

 A Vietnam veteran, he retired as a First Class Petty Officer from the Navy follow 22 years of service. Later he worked with Harvey Point Defense Testing where he retired after 20 years of employment. 

He enjoyed membership in the William Clarence Jackson Post 6060 of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Surviving is his wife of nearly 26 years, Christine Schmid “Chris” Williams; four children; and nine grandchildren.

A gathering will be held Thursday, August 29, from 7 to 8 p.m. in Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, NC. An inurnment with military honors will be held Friday, August 30, at 3 p.m. in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
