Gracie Lee Eason Riddick

  Gracie Lee Eason Riddick, 87, of Eason Lane, Belvidere, NC, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024 in ECU Health Chowan Hospital, Edenton.

 Ms. Riddick was born in Perquimans County on January 18, 1937, and was the daughter of the late Tom and Nettie Saunders Eason. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Margie Gregory, Louise Stallings, Mildred Weeks, and Betty Lou Riddick. A caregiver for the elderly, in earlier years she worked as a waitress in several area restaurants.

 Surviving is her daughter, Cathy Riddick (Danny) of Sunbury; two sons, Mike Riddick of Sunbury and Paul Riddick of Hobbsville; a sister, Lorraine Eason Casper of Belvidere; seven grandchildren, Brooke Casper (Travis), Whitney Ryan (Chris), Travis Riddick (Stephanie), Casey Riddick, Megan Pippins (J.P.), Kyle Riddick, and Matthew Riddick; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

 Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and will be conducted by The Rev. Chaplain Caleb Bass. Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home immediately following the service on Wednesday. A private burial will be in Up River Cemetery.
