George Westinghouse Strain, III

   George Westinghouse Strain, III, 54, of Hertford, NC, passed away Monday, April 3, 2023 in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.

   Mr. Strain was born in Delaware on December 31, 1968, and was the son of the late George Westinghouse Strain, II and Brenda Alters Strain. Employed in both custom boat building and cabinetry through the years, he loved woodworking and was a very talented craftsman. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, was an excellent and creative cook, and had a special love for animals.

   Surviving is his wife of 25 years, Margaret Heath Strain; two sisters, Michelle Nichols (husband, Duane) and Dawn Bouch, both of Hertford; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members; and his beloved canine companions, Loki and Luna.

   A private memorial service will be held.
