George Robert Parker

   George Robert Parker, 93, of 455 Water Plant Road, Gates, NC, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at his home.

   Mr. Parker was born in Gates County on October 1, 1925, and was the son of the late Leska George and Ruth B. Parker. A farmer, before retiring he also serviced lawnmowers at Wallace Mathias’ Service Station in Gates. He was a member of Reynoldson Baptist Church.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John D. “Jack” Parker.

   Surviving are several cousins and extended family members.

   Graveside services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Reynoldson Baptist Church Cemetery and will be conducted by the Rev. Cody Brinkley. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, is handling arrangements.

   In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Gates County Rescue Squad, 16 US 158 East, Gatesville, NC 27938.
