George Michael Cauley, Sr.

   George Michael “Mike” Cauley, Sr., 63, of 645 Oak Stump Road, Elizabeth City, NC, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018, in the Sentara Norfolk General Heart Center.

   Mike was born in Alma, Georgia, on April 11, 1955, and was the son of Judith Lee Temple Cauley of Elizabeth City and the late Earnest Scott Cauley, Jr. A supervisor with Doug Temple Logging, he was an avid hunter and enjoyed membership in the Southside, Harrell’s, and Northern Dismal Hunting Clubs.

   In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Joyce Faye Harris Cauley; his son, George Michael “Bubba” Cauley, Jr. (Kerry Lahr); four brothers, Paul Scott Cauley, Ronnie Louis Cauley, Sr., Dwight Allen Cauley, and Ronnie Louis Cauley, Jr., all of Elizabeth City; and four grandsons, Levi, Drake, Trevor, and Michael.

   Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 27^th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford. Burial will follow in New Hollywood Cemetery in Elizabeth City. Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home the hour prior to services, and all other times at the residence.
