Franklin Leroy Parsons

   Franklin Leroy Parsons, 77, of 107 Kickapoo Trail, Edenton, NC, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, in Vidant Chowan Hospital.

   Mr. Parsons was born in Norfolk, VA, on December 18, 1941, and was the son of the late Robert L. and Elsie Davis Parsons. Retired from Norfolk Naval Base, he worked in automotive body repair for many years, and for the last several years as security at the gate of Albemarle Plantation.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Deane Summerill Parsons.

   Surviving are his son, Bobby Lee Parsons and wife, Wanda, of Chesapeake, VA; his sister, Nancy Lovelace, also of Chesapeake; three grandchildren, Karen Parsons Yowell (Jason), Bobby Lee Parsons, Jr., and Mallory Parsons (Corey Settle); and four great-grandchildren, Kailen and Ayden Yowell, Abby Parsons, and Benjamin Settle.

   In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is assisting the family with arrangements.

   In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Tri-County Animal Shelter, 138 Icaria Road, Tyner, NC 27980.
