Faye Symons Stallings

 Faye Rae Symons Stallings, 92, of 720 Gaston Drive, Hertford, NC, died Tuesday, January 7, 2025, in ECU Health Chowan Hospital, Edenton.

 Mrs. Stallings was born in Perquimans County on January 18, 1932, and was the daughter of the late Ernest Cranston Symons and Lydia Warden Symons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delton “Bake” Stallings; a son, Wayne Stallings; a sister, Margaret Fuller; a brother, E.J. Symons; and by a grandson, Jason Stallings.

 A retired bookkeeper, she worked for several area businesses through the years, and kept books for Miller & Meads, and Larry Larabee Farms until January of 2024. She raised her family attending Whiteville Grove Baptist Church, and later after moving to Hertford, attended Hertford Baptist Church.

 Surviving are her children, Lydia S. Perry (husband, Gene) of Hertford, Donald Stallings (wife, Anita, deceased) of Rockwood, TN, Billy Stallings (wife, Donna) of Elizabeth City, and Danny Stallings (wife, Ann) of Hertford; a sister, Sylvia Hoover of Elizabeth City; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

 Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and will be conducted by the Rev. Howard Sutton. The burial will be private in Cedarwood Cemetery.

 Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home the hour before services on Friday or all other times at the residence.
