Charlotte Faye Boyce Davis, 85, of Carrollton, VA, died Saturday, January 25, 2025, in her home where she was cared for by her devoted husband and family.
Mrs. Davis was born on April 10, 1939, and raised on Rocky Hock Creek Road in Chowan County, the youngest of six children born to the late Charlie Frank and Bessie Layton Boyce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Grace Britton, Pearl Faircloth, Dorothy White, and Mae Spivey, and by her brother, Waverly Boyce.
A graduate of Chowan High School, after marrying, she moved to the Hampton VA area where she and Calvin raised their family and made their home for over 60 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who had a deep and abiding love for her children and family. Family was everything to her, and that caring and welcoming attitude extended to all who entered her home. Many will remember that she loved to laugh and sing.
Surviving is her husband of nearly 65 years, Calvin Davis; their children, Angela Sayre of Carrollton, Janet Jones (husband, Mark) of Windsor, VA, and Todd Davis (wife, Stacie) of Tonao, VA. She was grandma and mama to grandchildren, Joseph Sayre, Justin Jones, Heather Reese (husband, Jeremy), and Kelley Lebrija, and to great-grandchildren, Walker, Carson, and Charley.
In accordance with her wishes, a graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 29th, at 2:00 p.m. in Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery, 3025 Virginia Road, Tyner, NC 27980, and will be conducted by family friend, the Rev. Russell Blanchard. There will be no formal visitation or receiving at the funeral home, however friends are invited to visit the family at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that in recognition of her long struggle with Vascular Dementia, contributions in her memory be made to the Dementia Society of America, P.O.
