Everett Daniel Turner

   Everett Daniel Turner, 92, of Elizabeth City, NC, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.

   Mr. Turner was born in Schley County, GA on February 23, 1930 and was the son of the late Everett M. and Patricia Harris Turner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Rich Turner, and by his sister, Betty Dunnigan.

   A retired chemical engineer, he was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.

   Surviving are his four daughters, Angelique Boylan, Taryne Youngblood, Teri Lynn West, and Lisa Ann Welge; his son, Bradford H. Turner; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, January 6, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 962 Old US Hwy 70, Black Mountain, NC.

   Arrangements in Black Mountain are being handled by Penland Funeral Home, 125 South Avenue, Swannanoa, NC, and local arrangements are being handled by Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral and Cremation Provider, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, NC.

   Flowers are welcomed and may be sent to Penland Funeral Home in Swannanoa.
