Evelyn Boyd Taylor

   Evelyn Boyd Taylor, 96, of Hertford, NC, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018.

   Mrs. Taylor was born in Beaufort County on January 15, 1922, and was the daughter of the late Robert Nicholson and Lucille Pinkham Boyd. A homemaker, for many years she had been active in Hertford United Methodist Church.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Elbert Boykin Taylor; two brothers, Justice Boyd and wife, Ethelyne, and Holton Boyd and wife, Adelle; and a brother-in-law, James Daughtery.

   Surviving are her daughter, Sharman Taylor Haskett and husband, Dr. Joseph R. Haskett, Jr., of Hertford; a granddaughter, Joanna Haskett Hunter and husband, Todd, of Hertford, two grandsons, Joseph Ray Haskett, III of Savannah, GA and Wesley Taylor Haskett of Manteo; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Hunter, Jensen Hunter, and Joseph Haskett, IV; a sister, Frances Boyd Daughtery of Jacksonville, FL; and four nieces and nephews.

   A private graveside memorial service will be held in Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hertford United Methodist Church, 200 Dobbs Street, Hertford, NC 27944.
