Evelyn Lane Mansfield

   Evelyn Lane "Jackie" Mansfield, 85, of 2275 Center Hill Hwy, Hertford, NC, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020, in Three Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center, Windsor.

   Mrs. Mansfield was born in Chowan County on October 27, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Jerry Vernon and Lona Allen Lane. A retired secretary having been employed in the insurance industry, she was a member of Great Hope Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall William Mansfield; sisters, Edith Mansfield, Alice Davenport, Elizabeth Rogerson, Louise Layden, and Sarah Townsend; and by brothers, Vernon, Thomas, Larry, and Walter Lane.

   Surviving are her children, Marsha and Sam Hord of Edenton, Robin and Joseph Wright of Pensacola, FL, and Michael Mansfield of Fort Collins, CO; her granddaughter and the joy of her life, Elisabeth Lane Wright; a sister, Jessie Adams of Merry Hill; a sister-in-law, Ophelia Meads of Elizabeth City; special nieces and nephews, Margaret, Frances, David, Brenda, Bill, Jerry, Michael, Stephanie, Rachel, Molly, and many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   A memorial service will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Great Hope Baptist Church. A private inurnment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service, and all other times at the residence.
