Evelyn Rae Flowers

   Evelyn "Ebbie" Rae Flowers, of Gates, NC, born September 12, 1950 in Birmingham, Alabama passed September 18, 2023. She was predeceased in death by her parents, James and Mary Flowers, brothers, Charles and James, sisters Mary Margaret and twin Clara Mae, and her son, James Kalwite. She is survived by son Louis Kalwite III (Lynn) and daughter Katherine Kalwite, grandchildren Christian, Jada, Abigail, Bain, and James "Bubby", great-grandson Jaxon, sisters Willene, Sandra, and Hanna Gaynelle, many nieces and nephews, and not to be forgotten, her sweet, loyal dog "Val"entine.

   She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, cooking, or just sitting on her deck watching the birds. Special thanks to dad, Louis Kalwite Jr., and family friend Julie Sizemore for helping to care for her over the last few months.

   A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Somerton Methodist Church located at 8610 Whaleyville Blvd Suffolk, VA 23438.
