Dorothy Esther Ferrell Morrow, 85, a longtime resident of Utah, and more recently of Elizabeth City, NC, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025, in her home where she was being cared for by family.
Mrs. Morrow was born in Perquimans County on November 19, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Tony Octavious and Alice Lamb Ferrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Samuel “Eddie” Morrow, and a sister, Lauretta Hassell.
A retired owner and operator in the restaurant industry for many years, she was always proud to be a military wife as she traveled various places and supported her husband throughout his career.
Surviving are her two sons, Daniel Ray Stallings of Edenton and Forrest Glade Morrow (Hillery) of Ephraim, UT; a sister, Ann Morris (James) of Elizabeth City; brother-in-law, Caleb Hassell of Chesterfield, VA; two grandchildren, Casey Garrett (Jason) and Christopher Stallings (Abigail); two step-grandchildren, Melissa and Emily Seely; three great-grandchildren, Madison Williams, and Charleston and Maverick Stallings; three step-great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Andress, Brianna Rollinson, and Tracen Brown; and other extended family members.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 24, at 2:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and will be conducted by Pastor Danny Gurganus. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Elizabeth City.
