Eric Miguel Gonzalez

   Eric Miguel Gonzalez, 23, of 344 Poplar Neck Road, Edenton, NC, died Saturday, March 18, 2023 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

   Eric was born in Chowan County on November 22, 1999 and was the son of Patrisse Suzanne Lenau of Edenton and Rafael Gonzalez of Elizabeth City.

   A 2018 graduate of John A. Holmes High School where he was All-Area and All-Conference in soccer and was a member of the Aces Boys Tennis Team, he also enjoyed his time playing Travel Soccer. He later attended Cape Fear Community College before following work to Corpus Christi. In earlier years he was in the Boy Scouts and was a member of Pack 164 where his mom served as Pack Leader. Eric loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing in his spare time, traveling and going on adventures, and making memories with his family and friends. His personality made everyone smile who came around him and lit up every room he entered. And that smile…EVERYONE will remember his beautiful smile.

   In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Caitlyn Gonzalez of Edenton; maternal grandparents, Lorraine and Jon Roberts of Burgaw and Richard and Linda Lenau of Elizabeth City; paternal grandparents, Rafael Gonzalez and Clementina Plata, both of Hertford; and by aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends.

   A memorial service for family and friends will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Purser Soccer/Football Complex, 528B Coke Avenue, Edenton.

   Friends are invited to visit with the family Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and other times at the residence.

   The Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, March 28th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Ann Catholic Church and will be conducted by Father Jairo A. Maldonado-Pacheco. The burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery.
