   Elvie Wesley Twiddy, 72, 114 Jackson Street, Edenton, NC, died Saturday, September 26, 2020 in his home where he was being cared for by his family.

   Mr. Twiddy was born in Chowan County on February 5, 1948, and was the son of the late Herbert Wesley and Doris Gray Morris Twiddy. A retired painter from Albemarle Painting Contractors, he was a member and former deacon of First Christian Church where he had also served as a song leader for many years having had a lifelong passion for music.

   Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Vera Oliver Twiddy; two daughters, Linda Rawls (Derrick) and Janice Stanley (Earnell), all of Edenton; a son, Jason Twiddy (Ben Schat) of Greenville; a sister, Sharon Twiddy Casper Mizelle (Mike) of Edenton; four grandchildren, Jennifer Hobbs, Lee Person, Justice Slade (Coley), and Alexzandrea Stanley; and 10 great-grandchildren.

   Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Beaver Hill Cemetery and will be conducted by Pastor Steve Davenport. Friends may join the family at the residence.
