Eloise Riddick Hollowell

 Eloise Riddick Hollowell, 92, of Hertford, died Sunday, October 6, 2024, in Litchford Falls Health & Rehabilitation Center, Raleigh.

 Mrs. Hollowell was born in Gates County on July 10, 1932, and was the daughter of the late Jake A. and Rosa Lee Ward Riddick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Perry Hollowell, Sr.; her sister, Dolna Mae Proctor; brothers, Albert and Howard Riddick; and by her son-in-law, Randy Winslow, Sr.

 A homemaker and farmer’s wife, Mrs. Hollowell was a member of Great Hope Baptist Church where in years past she had been active in various positions including the W.M.U. and had served as director of the Vacation Bible School program.

 Surviving are her children, Dr. Robert P. “Bobby” Hollowell, Jr. (wife, Donna) of Morrisville, Joyce E. Hollowell of Raleigh, Benita F. Hollowell of Walstonburg, and Paige H. Winslow of Hillsborough; three grandchildren, Dr. Robert P. “Robby” Hollowell, III (wife, Dr. Lauren A. Hollowell), Dr. Lauren H. Loeffler (husband, Jon), and Randy Glenn Winslow, Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Millicent Eloise Hollowell, Jacqueline Elise Hollowell, Blake Elijah Loeffler, and Grant William Loeffler. Also surviving are two sisters, Annie Marie Ward and Carolyn Harris, both of Suffolk, VA; a brother, Fred Riddick of Sunbury; and many nieces, nephews, and extended members of both the Riddick and Hollowell families.

 Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 10th, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Wayne Proctor and the Rev. Ray Hollowell. The burial will be in Cedarwood Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family in the funeral home immediately following the chapel service, or all other times at the residence.
