Ellen Smith Hollowell

  Ellen Christine Smith Hollowell, 86, of Edenton, NC, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024, in her home.

  Mrs. Hollowell was born in Chowan County on March 7, 1938, and was the daughter of the late James Thomas Smith and Gladys Pearl Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Earl Hollowell, Sr, a son, Lee, sisters, Shirley, Frances, Gladys, and Barbara, and by brothers, Daniel, Frank, Richard, Bobby, and Bill.

  Surviving are two sons, Mark and David; a daughter, Angie; two sisters, Betty and Mary; a brother, Raymond; several grandchildren; and other extended members of the Smith and Hollowell families.

   A private burial will be held in Beaver Hill Cemetery.
