Eleanor Glyn Hurdle Stallings, 95, of 205 Whitehouse Road, Belvidere, NC, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024 in her home where she was being cared for by family.
Mrs. Stallings was born in Perquimans County on December 15, 1928 and was the daughter of the late William Quinton and Lillie Pink Jordan Hurdle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maywood Garland “Dick” Stallings, her daughter, Janice Peede, and by her brother, Daryl Hurdle. A homemaker, she was a member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church.
Surviving are her three daughters, Dianne S. Owens (Bobby), Gail S. Layden (Wayne), both of Hertford, and Ginger S. Wilkins (Tom) of Wake Forest; a sister-in-law, Ella Mae Hurdle of Hertford; three grandchildren, Danielle Winslow (Randy Elliott, and his sons, Brock and Owen Elliott), Crystal Harrell (Joey), and Lindsey Campbell (Ronnie); and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Sandy Cross Baptist Church and will be conducted by The Rev. Howard Sutton. A private burial will be in the Rountree-Stallings Family Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family in the social hall of the church immediately following the service on Sunday and other times at the residence.
