Eddie Burnice Penny, 66, of 111 Robin Lane, Edenton, NC, died Friday, October 9, 2020 in his home.
Mr. Penny was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on June 12, 1954, and was the son of the late Burnice Lee and Shirley Rose Hardee Penny. The retired owner and operator of Eddie’s Automotive Body Shop, he had also done contract mechanic work for United Parcel Service at their Edenton Hub. He was a member of Edenton Baptist Church.
Surviving are his daughter, Stacy Penny Bigham and husband, Scott, and their children, Madelyn Sarah and Emmitt Scott Bigham of Apex; and two sisters, Pat Cobb of Martinsville, VA and Brenda Richardson of New Bern.
A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday at 4:00 p.m. in Beaver Hill Cemetery and will be conducted by his pastor, The Rev. David Brooks. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, no formal visitation is planned; however friends are invited to visit with the family at the gravesite following services.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Edenton Baptist Church, 200 South Granville Street, Edenton, NC 27932.
