Doris Lane Myers

   Doris Lane Myers, of Wilmington, NC, passed peacefully to the Lord on Saturday, July 25, 2020 in Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington.

   Born into the Quaker faith in Perquimans County on December 2, 1921, she was the daughter of the late John T. Lane and Alberta Winslow Lane.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, E. Burton Myers.

   Surviving are her son, Gary and wife Belinda; and two grandsons, Joel and wife Stephanie and Gavin and wife Heather.  Also surviving are her nieces and nephews who were all so dear to her.

  She attended Guilford College and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was active in the Women's Circle.  Mrs. Myers was one of the last from a generation of fine ladies, the epitome of graciousness and Godliness.  She was a thankful person and would want all of those who held her close with innumerable acts of kindness, caring, prayers, and fellowship to know just how special all that love was to her.

   A memorial service will be held Monday, August 10, at 11:00 a.m. in Up River Friends Meeting, and will be conducted by Pastor Chuck Hartman.  A private burial will be in Up River Cemetery.
