Donnie Phillips Stowe

   Donnie Phillips Stowe, 72, of 2945 New Hope Road, Hertford, NC, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024 in his home.

   Mr. Stowe was born in Dare County on June 13, 1951 and was the son of the late Charles Dansworth Stowe and Nora Lee O’Neal Stowe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rowena Angelico, and by brothers, Michael and David Stowe.

   Formerly employed with the Ferry Division of the NC Department of Transportation, he was an avid musician and singer having been a member of “Ocean” as his most notable band through the years.

   Surviving is his wife of 46 years, Peggy Sparrow Stowe; two daughters, Donna Rivers (Michael) of Chicago, IL and Rachel Stowe (David) of Chesapeake, VA; a sister, Alma Fountain of Currituck; four brothers, Ivey and Johnny Stowe, both of Chesapeake, Jeff Stowe of Frisco, and Greg Stowe of Buxton; five grandchildren, Courtni, Haley, Jaiden, Evan, and Nora; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   A memorial service will be held at a later date.
