Donna Thomas Scott

   Donna Rae Thomas Scott, 69, of 319 Woodland Drive, Edenton, NC, died Friday, November 5, 2021 in Vidant Chowan Hospital.

   Mrs. Scott was born in Chowan County on September 9, 1952, and was the daughter of the late Donald Ray and Johnetta Garrett Thomas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joey.

   A retired nurse’s aid from Britthaven of Edenton, she had in earlier years worked at Seabrook Blanching Corporation, and was a member of Edenton Church of God.

   Surviving is her husband of 23 years, Ricky Scott; a daughter, Tracy Davenport of Edenton, a son, Joe Davenport of Creswell; and her sister, Mona Lisa Thomas Fleming of Edenton. Also surviving are Ricky’s children, Tina Gilbert (Jason) and Tracy Williams (Chris), both of Raleigh, and Steven Goff of DeRidder, LA. Together Donna and Ricky shared ten grandchildren, Cassie, Jocelyn, Taylor, Chris, Brianna, Ricky, Tiffany, Katelyn, Haley, and Jordan; and three great-grandchildren, Korbin, Mason, and Kaden.

   Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, and will be conducted by Pastors Bill Braswell and Danny Gurganus. The burial will follow in the Layton Family Cemetery and will be conducted by Pastor Roger Leggett. Friends may visit with the family Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
