Donna Jean “”NaNa” Cleveland, 67, of Edenton, NC, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
A native of Portsmouth, Va, Donna was born on May 7, 1957. She was the wife of 38 years to Harry William Cleveland, Jr. and the daughter of Charles Andrew Runyon and Ida Mae Vandyke Runyon, both deceased. Donna attended Cradock High School in Portsmouth, VA. She was a devoted hard worker for more than 30 years with Hoffman Beverage Company. Donna loved her “Busch” beer, “More” cigarettes, and being out on the Chowan River. She has touched so many lives in so many ways, and will be missed tremendously by all that knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Harry; daughter, Amy Smith-Wilson; son, James Smith; and eleven grandchildren, Kristopher Smith her “Boo-Boo”, Savanna Holmes, Eli Wilson, Aidan Wilson, Paytin Smith, Mackenzie Smith, Nicholas Turner, Destiny Cleveland, Trinity Cleveland, Devin Cleveland, and Tristan Cleveland; two sisters, Geraldine Wetsel and Kay Phillips; and brother, Kenny Runyon
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Armentrout; and brother, Lee Runyon.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date by her daughter, Amy Smith-Wilson.
