Donald Andrew Scott

   Donald Andrew Scott, 47, of 125 Boonetown Road, Gates, NC, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2019 in his home.

   Born in Monterey County, CA on December 11, 1971, he was the son of the late Roy Don and Margaret Hancock Scott. A self-employed carpenter for many years, more recently he had worked as an “over the road” truck driver. A member of Kittrell’s United Methodist Church, other enjoyments included his love of the game pool in which he loved to play in different tournaments. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Michelle Lawson.

   Surviving are his wife, Sharon Kay Derby-Scott; three daughters, Haley Derby of Gates, Victoria Scott of Missouri, and Angela Scott of Iowa; three sons, Donald Scott, Jr. and wife, Megan, of Virginia, and R.J. Cooke and Tyler Britt, both of Gates; a sister, Michelle Michie of Wisconsin; and two grandsons, Jacob “Tater” and Devyn Scott.

   A memorial service will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in Kittrell’s United Methodist Church, and will be conducted by Pastors Casey Estler and Carroll Bundy. Friends may join the family at the residence.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray medical and other related expenses.
