Donald Keith Ashley

   Donald Keith Ashley, 58, of Gates House Assisted Living, Gatesville, NC, passed away there on Sunday morning, June 2, 2019.

   Mr. Ashley was born in Hampton, Virginia on June 28, 1960, and was the son of the late George Norman and Johnnie Mae Worrell Ashley. A sales associate, he last worked with Biggs Cadillac-Buick-GMC in Elizabeth City. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.

   Surviving are a daughter, Kristen Ashley Ward and husband, Jason, of Tyner; a son, Grant Neal Ashley and wife, Crystal, of Gatesville; a sister, Jennifer Ashley Bazemore of Sunbury; three brothers, Andy Ashley of Gates, and Mark Ashley and Bruce Ashley, both of Sunbury; and three granddaughters, Taylor Rose Ward, Caroline Ashley Ward, and Aubrey Mae Ashley.

   Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and will be conducted by the Revs. Burt Pearce and Wade Bennett. A private burial will follow in the family cemetery on Clay Hill Road. Friends may join the family Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

   Special appreciation is expressed to Brandi Jordan of The Albemarle Commission Area on Aging, who helped both Don and the family with his care during this period of declining health.
