Deborah Lilly Saunders

Deborah Lynn Lilly “Debbie” Saunders, 56, of Edenton, NC, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021.

Born in Norfolk, VA on April 16, 1965, she was the daughter of Theodore Roosevelt Lilly, Jr. of California and Thelma Rose Peach of Edenton. A kind and gentle person, she cared deeply for her family and always went out of her way to help others. She loved her son more than life itself and was so very proud of his every accomplishment. We all know she will always watch over him now. A member of Bandon Chapel, she had a deep love of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and had a special place in her heart for animals.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her son, Joshua Saunders of California; six sisters, Michelle Lowe of Arizona, Maryah O’Connell, Terra Van Alstyne, Grace Dolence, and Sarah Hess, all of California, and Rebecca Lilly of Australia; two brothers, Ted and Charles Lilly, both of California; 15 nieces and nephews, Brandon, Michael, Sebrina, Destiny, Tyler, Makayla, Theo IV, Nora, Alea, Sebastian, Noah, Samantha, Adeline, Penelope, and Lea; and seven great-nieces and nephews, Zander, Aeris, Elliana, Iyla, Orion, Odette, and Olivia.

A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, September 26 at 3:00 p.m. in Bandon Chapel, 200 Bandon Road, Edenton.
