Dayle Noble Biba

Dayle Noble Biba, 70, of Belvidere, NC, died Monday, September 26, 2022 in her home with her husband Todd and dog Cheddar by her side.

Everyone who knew Dayle knows there were two things she loved most in the world-- animals and children. Horses and dogs were a constant in Dayle’s life, and some of the sweetest, like Crunchy, Rocket, Smokey, Squirrel and Cheddar, were lucky enough to spend their lives with her. Horses especially, brought her joy, along with the trail rides, parties, dancing and lifelong friendships they fostered. She also loved teaching people how to ride horses, but more importantly, how to care for them.

Dayle loved to read and became an English teacher later in life, expressing empathy and compassion for her students with simple, personal gestures like giving them silly nicknames. She wasn’t afraid to bribe them either, often doling out candy as rewards, and even going so far as to take struggling students to Nag’s Head for fishing and Laser Tag if they worked hard and passed their end-of-grade tests. For many of her students, it wasn’t really the prospect of a fishing trip or a Jolly Rancher that motivated them; it was just that Dayle came into these kids’ lives and showed them that she truly cared and really wanted them to succeed.

When it came to the children in her family, Dayle had a knack for finding gifts that would barely fit in the back of the car during the return trip home-- like a talking Thomas the Tank Engine a child could ride if he wasn’t terrified of it. Aside from the gifts, she also treated children with respect, trusting them when they were too young to be behind the wheel of a car or scared on top of a horse for the first time.

If there was anything that rivaled her love for children and animals, it was the love she had for her husband Todd, her son, Heath and her granddaughter, Zoe. From framed photographs of Heath jumping out of a plane to holding his daughter on the day she was born, there’s not a wall in Todd and Dayle’s home that doesn’t show off just how much she loved her son and granddaughter. And the love she had for Zoe was extra special and could only be matched by the love Zoe mirrored back. Fortunately, Zoe was able to spend a week over the summer with “the best Granny ever” to create even more special memories.

Dayle is survived by her husband, Todd; son, Heath Hublitz; granddaughter, Zoe Hublitz; mother, Lennie Mae Noble, 96; two sisters, Jean and Martha; and her dog, Cheddar. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Wilton Noble.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday afternoon, October 22, at 1:00 p.m. at the residence, 351 Up River Road in Belvidere.
