David Theodore Chappell, Sr.

   David Theodore Chappell, Sr., 70, of 223 Jordan Loop Road, Tyner, NC, died Friday, December 6, 2019.

   Mr. Chappell was born in Norfolk, VA on December 6, 1949, and was the son of the late Lucius Theodore and Celia Rebecca Copeland Chappell. Retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard, he was a member of Lighthouse Tabernacle Church, and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Dawson.

   Surviving are his two sons, Teddy Chappell and wife, Wendy, and Dustin Chappell; his sister, Carrie Dail; his brother, Lucius Roy Chappell, all of Tyner; and six grandchildren, Hunter, Noah, Sydnie, C.J., Abby, and Star.

   Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by Pastors Irvin Ambrose, Derek Jones, and Chap Chappell. Burial with military honors will follow in Happy Home Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation on Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

   Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of Lighthouse Tabernacle Church, 1186 County Line Road, Belvidere, NC 27980.
