Danny Ray Kennedy

   Danny Ray Kennedy, 69, of 490 Cotton Gin Road, died Friday, February 4, 2022 in his home.

   Mr. Kennedy was born in Mingo County, West Virginia on February 25, 1952, and was the son of the late Jones and Gladys Cooke Kennedy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Louise Kennedy and Ella Daniels; by brothers, Willie, Douglas, and Billy Joe Kennedy; and by a granddaughter, A’Iyana Jones.

   A retired Lineman/Supervisor with Dominion Energy, he was a member of the Drum Hill Hunt Club and the gospel group, “Carolina Line”. Enjoyments included writing, singing about the Lord, spending time with family and friends, and playing basketball with his grandson.

   Surviving is his daughter, Jennifer Marie Jones (Jerome Sr.) of Gates; his son, Dustin Ray Kennedy of Sunbury; his sister, Iris Kennedy of Spartanburg, SC; his brother, Jimmy Kennedy (Lisa) of Delbarton, WV; two grandchildren, Shala’Jah Stallings and Jerome Jones, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.

   A private service is planned.
