Daniel Eugene Dalton, Sr., 65, of Edenton, NC, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022 in his home where he was being cared for by family.
Mr. Dalton was born in Giles County, VA on July 18, 1957, and was the son of the late Mose Daniel and Margaret Frye Dalton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, David Seal, a sister, Fannie Songer, and by brothers, Michael and Terry Dalton.
A retired Roadmaster, he had been employed with both Norfolk and Southern and Chesapeake and Albemarle Railroads for many years. A member of Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church where he enjoyed playing bass guitar for church services and had served as a Board Member, other enjoyments and community service included membership in the Center Hill-Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving is his wife of 45 years, Deborah Stallings Dalton; a son, Daniel E. “Boone” Dalton, Jr. (Nicki) of Suffolk, VA and a daughter, Jessica Dalton Seal of Raleigh; two sisters, Loretta McKillip of Platteville, WI and Flo Hetherington of Christiansburg, VA; a brother, Charles Dalton of Staffordsville, VA; two granddaughters, Lindsay Jones (Matt) and Hannah Dalton; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church, and will be conducted by Pastor Danny Gurganus and Chaplain Rhonda Rhodes. Friends may visit with the family in the church social hall immediately following the service, and all other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Center Hill-Crossroads VFD, PO Box 185, Tyner, NC 27980.
