Cynthia Ober Spruill

   Cynthia Kaye Ober Spruill of Creswell, NC, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at ECU Health Medical Center.

   Cindy was born October 9, 1967, in Washington, NC. Cindy was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly, grandmother, Vera Lancaster, and stepfather, Billy Paul.

   After her daughter Kimberly died waiting on a heart transplant, she became a registered organ donor. A giver until the end, many other families will benefit from her selfless generosity.

   Cindy worked for 30+ years as an account manager in the nursing home industry. Her gift of helping others was used daily. Though she did that for a living, she always wanted to be a marine biologist and had a love for dolphins and all things in the ocean. She was a faithful member of Zion's Chapel Church of Christ in Roper, NC.

   She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Billy Spruill; their son, Thomas and his wife, Rayann, and grandson, William. Others left to cherish her memory are her mother, Kaye Paul; brother and sister-in-law, James and Lisa Paul; nephew, Brandon Paul and his wife, Dena; and her birth father, Ray Ober.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18^th, at 3 pm in Zion's Chapel Church of Christ, 6001 NC 32 North, Roper, and will be conducted by Minister Edwin Smith. Friends may visit with the family in the church the hour prior to services. There will be a private burial for the family at Philippi Church of Christ immediately following the service.
