Claxton Forest "C.F." Stallings, Jr.

Claxton Forest “C.F.” Stallings, Jr., 59, of 249 Whitehouse Road, Belvidere, NC, died Friday, November 10, 2023 in his home.

C.F. was a lifelong resident of Belvidere, born on December 10, 1963, and was the son of the late Claxton F., Sr. and Dorothy Ward Stallings.

A 1982 graduate of Gates County High School, he then attended North Carolina State University. While home from college in May of 1985, C.F. was in an automobile accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury. Through perseverance and prayer, he worked through and graduated from NCSU in 1990 with his Bachelors in Animal Science degree. While at State, he served on the College Livestock judging team and was a Resident Advisor at Bragaw Dormitory. Returning home, he worked as a hog farmer and contracted his production with Smithfield Foods. C.F. was a faithful member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and served on the Board of Deacons and sang in the Adult Choir.

Surviving is his sister, Dr. Cheryl Stallings, her husband, Charles Mark Crampton “Mark”, and their son, Charles Mark Stallings Crampton “Charlie”, of Apex; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Stallings and Ward families.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 12th, at 2:00 p.m. in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and will be conducted by his pastor, The Reverend Howard Sutton. The burial will follow in the family cemetery near the home. Friends may visit with the family Saturday from 7 to 8:00 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, and because of his struggles with brain injury and later from his battles with skin, lung, and liver cancer, and lastly from his suffering with Leukemia, the family suggests contributions be made to the Brain Injury Association of America, 3057 Nutley Street, #805, Fairfax, VA 22031 (online at www.biausa.org), to any chapter of the American Cancer Society (online at www.cancer.org), or to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (online at www.madd.org).
