Charlotte Esther Rogers Hulett, 84, of Elizabeth City, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2023 in her daughter’s home in Elizabeth City.
Mrs. Hulett was born in Scioto County, OH on February 11, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Joseph Addison and Nettie Florena Wilson Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Kathryn Euton, Thelma Montgomery, and Dorthea Dorsett, and by brothers, Robert and Bernard Rogers.
A retired Licensed Practical Nurse, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who dearly cared for and supported her family in all aspects of their lives. A faithful prayer warrior, she was a member of the NC District of the Wesleyan Church and most recently had attended and enjoyed fellowship in First Church of the Nazarene in Elizabeth City.
Surviving is her husband of nearly 65 years, Pastor James Robert Hulett; a daughter, Barbara Jane Hulett Turner (husband, Forrest) of Elizabeth City; two sons, Gregory Keith Hulett (wife, Susan) and Timothy Joseph Hulett of Elizabeth City; four grandchildren, Timothy Robert Hulett (wife, Marisol), Matthew Ryan Hulett (wife, Alexandra), Allie Turner Meads (husband, Eric), and Ashton Turner Roberson (husband, Brandon); and five great-grandchildren, Evan Turner Meads, Waylon Turner Roberson, and Sage, Gracie, and Bruce Hulett.
A memorial service will be held Monday, June 19, at 3:00 p.m. in First Church of the Nazarene, 1085 Highway 17, Elizabeth City, and will be conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Greenway. Friends may visit with the family in the fellowship hall of the church immediately following the service.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Gentiva Hospice for the care provided to Mrs. Hulett and family during their time of need.
