Charlotte Marie Hollingsworth

   Charlotte Marie Hollingsworth, 65, of Gates, NC, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024 in her son’s home in New Bern.

  Ms. Hollingsworth was born in Chesapeake, VA on June 5, 1958 and was the daughter of the late Charles Hargrove Hollingsworth and Gloria Jean Fain Hollingsworth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Elissa Gay, and by a grandson, Isaiah Gay.

   Retired as a Director of Nephrology with Fresenius Medical Care, she had been a registered nurse for over 30 years. She attended Upper Room Assembly in Gatesville.

   Surviving are her two sons, Nathaniel Smith of Chesapeake, VA and Ian Smith of New Bern; two sisters, Karen Martin of Virginia Beach, VA and Deborah Ann Fowler of Grandy; two brothers, Chuck Hollingsworth of Wanchese and Steven Hollingsworth of Virginia Beach, VA; and two granddaughters, Isabelle West of Panama City, FL and Alana Barreto of Lexington, KY.

   A graveside service will be held Friday, March 1, at 3:00 p.m. in Eure Christian Church Cemetery and will be conducted by The Rev. Wade Bennett. Friends may visit at Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, on Friday beginning at 1:30 p.m., where the family will gather until they process to the grave.
