Charles Kay Erwin

   Charles Kay Erwin, 72, of Gatesville, NC, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 in Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, VA.

   Mr. Erwin was born in Point Pleasant, WV on February 2, 1948, and was the son of the late Orey Erwin and Geraldine McCallister Zuspan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Charles Zuspan. A retired electrician from Norfolk Naval Shipyard, for the last 20 years he owned and operated Cool Breeze Saddlery. Among his many enjoyments in life included his love of riding motorcycles, horses, and working on cars. A veteran, he had served in both the Army and Navy.

   Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Margaret "Peggy" Erwin; a daughter, Darlene Erwin of Point Pleasant; a son, Robbie Erwin of California; a sister, Barbara Alice Hall of Point Pleasant, WV; two brothers, David Norvell of Mason, WV and Steve Wayne Norvell of Leon, WV; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

   A memorial service will be held at a later date. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, is assisting the family with arrangements.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any chapter of the American Cancer Society.
