   Carolyn Deloris Cofield Lightfoot, 54, of 3108 Hoskins Avenue, Edenton, NC, passed away Friday, April 10, 2020 in her home.

   Mrs. Lightfoot was born in Chowan County on June 28, 1965, and was the daughter of Mae Bond Cofield of Edenton and the late Walter Louis Cofield, Sr.  Employed for many years in Quality Control with Olam Edible Nuts, she grew up in the fellowship of Ryan's Grove Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, and more recently was a member of Mount Olive Church of Christ-Disciples of Christ.

   In addition to her mother, surviving are her husband of 29 years, Webster Davis Lightfoot; two sons, Kadeem Cofield of Edenton and Michael Cofield of San Antonio, TX; Treyl Beasley and Makayla Cofield, both of Edenton and whom Carolyn helped raise; five sisters, Mildred Palmer, Shirley Wynn (Mitchell), and Angela Beasley, all of Edenton, Deborah Morris of Newport News, VA, and Sheila Townsend of Fredericksburg, VA; three brothers, Walter Cofield, Jr. (Valerie) of Edenton, Tony Cofield of Georiga, and Edward Cofield of Philadelphia, PA; God-Parents, Thomas "Pop" Williams and Elnora "Second Mom" Bond, both of Edenton; a God-Sister, Carol Dillard of Hertford; an aunt, Mary Knight of Chesapeake, VA; 11 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   Due to the mandated restrictions and health precautions associated with the Coronavirus Pandemic, private funeral services will be held Saturday, April 18, in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and will be conducted by her brother-in-law, Elder Mitchell Wynn. Burial will be in Mount Olive Church Cemetery.
