Bud Alden Sowers

   Bud Alden Sowers, 88, of Chepanoe Trail, Edenton, NC, died Saturday, November 4, 2023 at his daughter’s home in Portsmouth, VA.

   Mr. Sowers was born in Somers Point, New Jersey on July 15, 1935 and was the son of the late Harry Franklin and Winnifred King Judkins Sowers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Lee Bryant Sowers.

   A proud Marine, Mr. Sowers had retired after 25 years of active duty in the US Marine Corps and an additional 5 years in the Reserves. SEMPER FI!!!

   Surviving are his daughters, Marianne Sowers Wyatt (husband, Michael) of Portsmouth, VA and Virginia Sowers Faulkner of Beatty, NV; a step-son, Michael Allen Cumbia (wife, Mary) of Edenton; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

   In accordance with his wishes, services are private.
