Bud Steven Pierce, Jr.

   Clifton Steven “Bud’ Pierce, Jr., 78, of Eure, NC, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021 in his home where he was being cared for by his family.

   Mr. Pierce was born in Norfolk, VA on July 18, 1942, and was the son of the late Clifton Steven Pierce, Sr. and Otis Frances Jamison Pierce Paschal.  A retired Master Sergeant with the US Army and veteran of the Vietnam War having served a total of 24 years, he later worked and retired as a Sergeant with the NC Department of Corrections following 15 years of employment. He was a former member of Post 7312 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Curtis Rountree; his step-father, Donald Paschal, Sr.; a sister, Joan Morrow; and by a brother, Lathan Pierce.

   Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Donna Rountree Pierce; a son, Clifton Steven Pierce, III; four daughters, Lisa Pierce Gay, Patricia Pierce, Frances Pierce Polk (husband, Alan), Sarah Pierce Askew (husband, Brandon); a brother, Donald Paschal, Jr.; Samantha Pierce Lilly and 13 other grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

   A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in the Rountree-Stallings Family Cemetery, 2039 County Line Road, Belvidere, and will be conducted by Chaplain Rick Lowery. No formal visitation is planned, however friends may visit with the family at the gravesite immediately following the service on Wednesday, and other times at the residence.
