   Brittney Ann Elliott, 31, of Elizabeth City, NC, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024 in her home.

   Born in Pasquotank County on January 22, 1992, Brittney was the daughter of Donald Allen Elliott (wife, Bonnie “Bon Bon” Keel) and Dianna Arelene Mann Banks (husband, John “Papa John” Banks), all of Elizabeth City. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Maryann Foley McGuire, maternal grandparents, William and Rhoda Midgett DeHart, and by her life partner, William Kenny Spencer.

   A homemaker, Brittney was a devoted mother and had a strong and optimistic spirit. She was a member of Towne South Church of Christ.

   Surviving in addition to her parents are her four children, Baylee Ann Spencer, Kennly May Spencer, Waylon Kenny Spencer and Willem Jaxyn Spencer, all of Elizabeth City; paternal grandfather, William Elliott, also of Elizabeth City; three sisters, Krystina Elliott of Hertford, Amber Banks and Chelsea Shannon, both of Brewton, AL; a brother, Justin Elliott of Currituck; seven nieces and six nephews.

   A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, January 13, at 11:00 a.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford. Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home immediately following the service.

   Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to assist with the care of Brittney’s children.
