Billy White

   William Albert “Billy” White, 88, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 in Jackson County, NC.

   Mr. White was born in Chowan County on February 6, 1931, and was the son of the late Willie and Lula Overton White. A retired agriculture equipment salesman for over 40 years, he was a member of Edenton Baptist Church, had retired as a Master Sergeant from the North Carolina National Guard after more than 21 years of service, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Boyce “Dot” White, who died on July 5, 2018.

   Surviving are his son, William Thomas “Tommy” White and wife, Shelly, of Cullowhee; two granddaughters, Hannah White of Belmont, NC and Camille White of Cullowhee; and his extended family and friends.

   A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 14^th, at 4:00 p.m. in Beaver Hill Cemetery, and will be conducted by his pastor, The Rev. David Brooks.

   In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Edenton Baptist Church, 200 S. Granville Street, Edenton, NC 27932, or to the Western Carolina University General Scholarship Fund, One University Drive, Cullowhee, NC 27823.
