Billy Hecker

   William Steven "Billy" Hecker, 65, of 211 Crescent Drive, Hertford, NC, died Tuesday, August 6, 2019 in his home.

   Mr. Hecker was born in Chicago, IL on September 5, 1953, and was the son of Dolores Marguerite Andersen Hecker and the late William Alexander Hecker. A retired long-distance truck driver, he was a Marine Corps veteran having served in the Vietnam War. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Hecker Lussen.

   Surviving are his wife of nearly 36 years, Jeanne Wilcox Hecker; a son, Rickie Twiford and wife, Kyleigh; two daughters, Heather Loftis and Shannon Mason; a sister, Sandra Lawrence; three brothers, Alan Hecker and wife, Beth, Richard Hecker and wife, Misty, and Paul Hecker and wife, Lisa; four grandchildren, Casey Twiford (Mike), Zachary Twiford, Jordan Loftis, and Josie Twiford (Gilbert); and a great-grandson, Leo Witek.

   A memorial service will be held in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA, at a later date.
