Bill Werszila

   William Lance “Bill” Werszila, 77, of 107 Oak Ridge Drive, Edenton, NC, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 10, 2020. He was lovingly cared for by his family in his home until his passing.

   Bill was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 23, 1942, and was the son of the late William Frank Werszila and Patricia Hart Werszila Kassop. A retired Travel Agent, his work was his passion, as he loved to travel and explore when not working. He and his wife had shared many cruises together and toured Europe on several occasions. A member of Edenton United Methodist Church, and the Edward G. Bond Post #40 of The American Legion, he was a volunteer with the Meals on Wheels Program. A veteran of the Vietnam era, he had served in the US Marine Corps and will receive military honors at his memorial service.

   Surviving is his wife of 23 years, Margaret Anaya “Peggy” Werszila. Also surviving are her children, Janet Marie MacKenzie of Edenton and James Richard Palmer (Dianne) of Adelaide, Australia. Together Peggy and Bill shared three grandchildren, Alexander James “A.J.” Palmer, Heather Anne MacKenzie, and Faith Elizabeth MacKenzie.

   A memorial service will be held at the Edenton United Methodist Church followed by inurnment at the church columbarium on September 19 at 11am and will be conducted by his pastor, The Reverend Valerie Tyson.
