Bill Jernigan

   William Roger "Bill" Jernigan, 74, of Foreman Bundy Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died Saturday, January 29, 2022.

   Mr. Jernigan was born in Petersburg, VA on February 9, 1947, and was the son of the late William Herbert and Stella Mae Woolard Jernigan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Geraldine Younts Jernigan and Nancy Pickell Jernigan, a daughter, Dawn Blakely, a son, Christopher Jernigan, and by a sister, Cynthia Adams.

   A self-employed building contractor having worked in residential construction for 50 years, other enjoyments included golfing, "junking", and going to different flea markets.

   Surviving is his daughter, Jennifer Layden Maldonado and her husband; three sons, Paul Garrett and his wife, Jodie Jernigan and his wife, and Daren Pickell; three sisters, Phyllis Shirley, Peggy Harris, and Faye Jeffcoat; four brothers, Lucky, Jim, Tommy, and Don Jernigan; three grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
