Betty Dunning Waterfield

   Betty Lou Dunning Waterfield, 79, of 201 Hall Street, Aulander, NC, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019, in her home.

   Mrs. Waterfield was born in Bertie County on January 7, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Curtis Dunning and Maggie Elizabeth Terry Brown.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Franklin "Frank" Waterfield; her step-father, William Brown, Sr.; and by a sister, Peggy Dunlow.

   Surviving are her daughter, Elizabeth Wilson Banks and husband, Jonathan, of Basye , VA; five sisters, Jessie Damond, Nettie Rowe, and Linda Vaughan, all of Aulander, Delia Newsome of Eure, and Jenny Chavis of Harrellsville; a brother, William Brown, Jr. of Aulander; and three grandchildren, Jon Wayne, Wade Dylan, and Bridget Makayla Banks.

   Funeral services will be held Monday at 4:00 p.m. in Oak Grove Baptist Church, 1469 NC Hwy 11 South, Aulander, and will be conducted by The Rev. Phil Terry.  Burial will follow in the Hall Rogerson Cemetery.  Friends may join the family in the church during the hour prior to the services on Monday.
