Barbara Butt Winslow

 Barbara Irene Butt Winslow, 89, of 1393 Woodville Road, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025, in her home.

 Mrs. Winslow was born in Perquimans County on November 23, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Henry Harvey, Sr. and Sarah Irene Hendren Butt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Welton Winslow; a sister, Joyce Skinner; and a brother, Harvey Butt, Jr.

 A homemaker, she was a talented seamstress and outstanding cook. Known to have a “green thumb,” she loved gardening and working with her flowers and plants. She was a lifetime member of New Hope Church, having been active through the years in many of the church’s committees and functions.

 Surviving are her three daughters, Sarah W. Brooker (husband, Keith) of Richmond, VA, Brenda W. Alligood (husband, Pod) of Washington, and Lorrie W. Rodarmel (husband, Jeff) of Chesapeake, VA; five grandchildren, Benjamin Brooker (wife, Lauren), Aaron Brooker, Bridget DePrince (husband, Eugene), Lauren Thompson (husband, Adam), and Joshua Rodarmel; five great-grandchildren, Jude, Cash, Adeline, Oliva, and William; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

 Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in New Hope Church, and will be conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Carroll Bundy. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the fellowship hall of the church the hour prior to the services on Sunday, and all other times at the residence.

 The family wishes to express their deep appreciate to Pat Toler with Always Caring for her devotion in assisting Mrs. Winslow in her home with the many day-to-day matters that needed to be handled.
