Ann King Barksdale

   Ann King Barksdale, 83, of Nixonton Road, Elizabeth City, NC, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019, in her daughter's home.

   Mrs. Barksdale was born on May 9, 1936 in Wake County, and was the daughter of the late Herbert and Beulah Wall King. A homemaker, she also worked outside the home in many capacities helping others throughout her life, including childcare and professional cleaning services.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Barksdale, her sister, Pat Hood, her brother, Danny King, and by her brother-in-law, Dave McLean.

   Surviving are her children, Deborah Ann Willadson of Elizabeth City, Donna Baker Davis of Wilson, Carlton Lloyd Brown and wife, Darlene, of Alabama, Rodney Lee Brown and wife, Cricket, of Virginia, and Aubrey Reid Baker of Raleigh; two sisters, Jane Atkinson and husband, James, of Florida, and Bonnie McLean of Edenton; a brother, Randall W. "Johnny" King of Wake Forest; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
