Anita Welchance Sandy

   Anita Welchance Sandy, 62, of Gates, NC, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021.

   Born in Portsmouth, VA on May 22, 1958, she was the daughter of Sylvia Crisp Hare and the late Obid Eugene Welchance. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her step-father, William Leon Hare. Formerly employed as a supervisor with Jim & Tim's Greenhouses in Chesapeake, VA, she was a media church member of the Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, LA.

   Surviving along with her mother are her daughter, Nichole Kindley; three sons, Michael Cain, Gregory Sandy, and Brandon Martin; her sister, Becky Gray; two nephews, Mike Love and Chad Eads; and 10 grandchildren.

   A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 6, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and will be conducted by Chaplain Scott Taylor. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, no formal visitation will be held, however friends may visit with the family at the funeral home immediately following the service on Saturday. Masks are required and social distancing measures should be followed by those attending the service.
